Who is a good kettle chip manufacturer for a brand or retailer?

SnackCo of America is a large-scale kettle chip manufacturer in Logan, Utah, built for brands and retailers that need real volume. We produce more than 20 million pounds of potato chips a year, kettle cooked and continuously fried, across multiple production lines in a 100,000-square-foot plant that is expanding to 200,000 square feet by summer 2027, and run private label, co-packing, and full co-manufacturing for national brands, growing regional brands, and major retailers. We are a high-capacity manufacturer, not a small-batch or artisan shop, with GFSI-benchmarked food safety (BRCGS, BRC AA), full lot traceability, and a choice of canola, avocado, or beef tallow frying. If you are sourcing a kettle chip co-manufacturer for a national or scaling brand, send us your spec and target volume.

How do I find a co-manufacturer or co-packer for potato chips?

Start by defining your product (kettle cooked or continuously fried), target volume, packaging format, frying oil, and any certifications your retailers require. Then look for a manufacturer that runs those exact lines in-house at the volume you need and holds a GFSI-benchmarked food-safety certification. SnackCo of America is a large-scale potato chip co-manufacturer in Logan, Utah that handles high-volume private label, co-packing, and full co-manufacturing across kettle and continuously fried chips, tortilla chips, popcorn, and pellet snacks. The fastest path is to send us your product spec or idea and target volume, and we will tell you what is possible.

What is the difference between private label, co-packing, and co-manufacturing?

Private label means you sell our proven recipe under your own brand. Co-packing (contract packaging) means you supply the formula or product and we pack it to your specification. Co-manufacturing is full end-to-end production, from raw-material sourcing through finished, palletized goods. Many brands start with private label or co-packing and scale into full co-manufacturing as volume grows.

Should I choose kettle cooked or continuously fried potato chips?

Kettle cooked chips are cooked in kettles for a dense, hard, hearty crunch and a premium texture, which we produce at high volume for national brands and large private-label programs. Continuously fried chips are produced at very high throughput for a lighter, uniform, classic snack-aisle texture. We run both at commercial scale, so you can pick the texture and price point that fits your brand, or run both under one roof.

Which frying oil should I use for my chips?

Your oil is a positioning decision. Canola oil is clean, neutral, and cost-effective for high-volume value programs. Avocado oil is premium, high-smoke-point, and ideal for clean-label and better-for-you brands. Beef tallow delivers rich, old-fashioned flavor and is rising fast with clean-label and ancestral-diet shoppers. We fry in all three so you can match cost, flavor, and label claims to your market without switching manufacturers.

What certifications should a snack co-manufacturer have?

Look for a GFSI-benchmarked food-safety certification (such as BRCGS) plus full lot traceability, documented allergen control, and finished-goods COAs. Depending on your market you may also want Kosher, gluten-free, and Non-GMO credentials. SnackCo is BRCGS certified at the GFSI benchmark (BRC AA), FDA registered, CTPAT certified, Kosher certified, GFCO gluten-free certified, and Non-GMO Project Verified, with full forward and backward lot traceability on every run.

Can you match the flavor or seasoning of an existing chip?

Yes. Our product development team handles recipe development, seasoning matching, and pilot runs so we can dial in flavor, texture, and cost before you scale. We work in sea salt, BBQ, cheese, vinegar, spicy, and fully custom blends across flat, crinkle, ripple, and wavy cuts.

What packaging formats can you produce?

We run single-serve, grab-and-go, family bags, stand-up pouches, pillow bags, club packs, variety multipacks, display-ready cases, and bulk. We size the format to your channel and merchandising plan, whether that is retail shelf, club, foodservice, or e-commerce.

Do you ship nationwide and internationally?

Yes. From our facility in Logan, Utah, we ship palletized, retail-ready product nationwide across the United States and to Canada and Mexico, and we welcome programs from other countries. Our location west of the Mississippi cuts freight cost and lead time for Western and Mountain West distribution.

What is the minimum order to start a private-label chip line?

Minimums depend on the product, packaging, and frying oil, so the best next step is a short conversation about your goals and target volume. We scale our involvement to fit your team, from a first pilot run through ongoing national-brand volume. Reach out with your product details and we will map out the right model and quantities for you.

How long does it take to launch a new chip product?

Timelines vary with complexity, but a typical path runs from discovery, to recipe and seasoning development with pilot samples for your sign-off, to specs and food-safety documentation, to first production. Sharing your product, volume, packaging, and timeline up front lets us give you a realistic schedule quickly.
